Brunching around Boston is always a fabulous way to spend a Sunday Funday, especially patio hopping the afternoon away as May temps tip towards 70.
Our brunch and bloody destination of choice? TORO in the South End. To just say that this place is amazing would be doing it a serious disservice, because it was literally off the chain, over the top, absolutely fabulous, amazing.
Regardless of the string of adjectives used to describe our afternoon, Operation: Plane to Patio was our mission and Miss CG totally nailed the our Sunday Funday kickoff to the “Boston RiRi 2.0 Extended Weekend Fab Fest” (because every biffster weekend has to have a fun name).
Not only was Sunday Greek Easter (Xristos Anesti to all the lovely Greeks out there btw), but it was also Cinco de Mayo. In an effort to keep it festive while also obviously keeping it classy, we decided to be bold bloody drinkers and opted for a round of Bloody Marias instead of the traditional American counterpart Bloody Mary. I’ll give you one guess as to what was behind the Spanish twist in cocktail name…ding, ding! TEQUILA!
When it comes to brunch bevs, we like to maintain a certain level of class and always go with Ketel based cocktails, twists of lime and extra spice. BUT, in the spirit of Cinco de Mayo, we opted to mix up our go-to brunchy beverage and sub in jalapeño infused tequila. Ole!
At first we were a tad, read seriously, skeptical as to what was going to be brought out on the rocks. But, to our amazement the Bloody Maria was a full on, spicy, Mexicana success and one that we would 100% order again. And probably again after that.

Garnished with the bloody staples and coupled with a smooth, yet spicy tomato base, the jalapeño tequila was actually a fun little kick. Yes, it got pretty spicy. And yes I almost had to remove my scarf b/c I was having major tequila hot flashes at the table, but I can confidently say that I’m now a huge fan of the jalapeño infused tequila Bloody Mary..err Maria. Oh, and I’m pretty sure you would be too!
Moral of the story? Boston was amazingly fabulous as usual. And the bloodys were too. AND if you’re ever in the South End and looking for some amazeballz tapas and a killer twisted Bloody…TORO is the only word you need to know.
Rock those sombreros and keep it classy!

Last week I walked into the gym with some new beats on my iPod, totally pumped for a Friday evening crushing intervals instead of carbs at the bar. Bonus points for hitting pause on a Friday happy hour, btw.
To my surprise, in the two days that had passed since I had last been to the gym, apparently some genius decided to get rid of all the normal people ellipticals in place of a zillion Precor machines. Not the cool Precor machines that are somewhat suspended, bouncy and fun, but the crazy, ridiculous ones that are on an angle and make it their personal mission to rain on your 30 minutes of cardio parade.

Quick sidenote: Back in the day, the Loyola University day to be exact, I typically didn’t mind the Precor. HOWEVER, I just want to stress that was back in college, where the gym was more of a place to plan Taco Tuesday or Thirsty Thursday pre-game festivities, or to settle the Fells vs Fed debate…not to get your booty in gear. Unless it was early second semester leading up to Spring Break. Anyway…quick-ish sidenote short, the Precor and I aren’t really the closest of pals.
So, being on the intense workout kick that I’ve embraced over the last few months, I decided to keep an open mind and rock out to my updated “Bitchin Bod” playlist on the angled Precor. To my amazement, I survived! And even somewhat enjoyed the experience. Cut to Sunday morning when my leg was abnormally sore for just a quick 30 minute cardio sesh + arms and abs. Typical me didn’t really care, so I took some Advil, rehydrated and called it a day. Enter Monday.
I was so excited to rock a new pair of stilettos at the office and to my horror, I couldn’t even stand up in them without my leg shaking to the point where I was literally wobbling around my bedroom. Thanks, Precor.
A Monday morning outfit change, a work week full of flats, three spin sessions and five days later I was back to normal. Furious at the Precor for literally cramping my style, I busted out a fierce pair of heels in spite of my fashion fiasco and went on my merry little way.
Moral of the story? Stay away from the crazy angled Precor. And just go to spin.
Stay fit and fabulous out there!

Anybody who has ever met either one of the two us knows our ridiculous obsession with everything and anything BravoTV-related. So what if we sometimes act like we’ve been casted on the Real Housewives or pretend they’re our closest gal pals? And what’s the big deal if we treat Saturday nights out like we’re rolling with the Shahs? We clearly find it entertaining and we’re not complaining about it.
WHICH, would explain why today’s retweet from @bravotv might quite possibly make today one of THE most fabulous days ever, hands down!
So, from two Brovoholics to hopefully others, cheers!!

With the number of times that I have checked in and out of Boston Logan, it’s no surprise when a Beantown visit is the subject matter for a Best Bloodys blog post. So here goes another - but with a fun little twist to the usu, so get excited!
In typical fashion, we started our BB weekend adventure building our own bloodys at Stephi’s (my personal fave b.mare destination), recapped Friday night’s festivities and caught up on life with CG’s mom, which took an amazing girls brunch to a whole new level of awesome (love her!)
As we strolled along the streets of Boston, rocking chic outfits and staying hot in the kray kray snow, a stroke of legit genius struck CGeezy and the most amazing phrase popped out of her mouth, “So, Neiman’s is like, right there. Wanna go on a shoe tour?!” Um…YES, PLEASE!
Enter the first ever, Official Boston Shoe Tour by CG. We hit up every major luxe department store and perused the hottest styles from Louboutin and Manolo to Chanel and YSL, I literally almost had a heart attack.

Spending the afternoon amongst so many posh styles, bright eye catching colors, and sexy labels, was like taking a jetsetty trip to stiletto heaven. Ok, fine, we literally WERE in stiletto heaven. And I never wanted to leave. The Boston Shoe Tour is and always will be, a huge success and I look forward to the Second Annual BST by CG.

A couple hours, and a few mentally spent G’s later, we came to the realization that we were in desperate need of cocktail reinforcements. So we grabbed some tumblers of Ketel and kept it classy and fabulous for the remainder of the weekend. Until next time…
Keep it stiletto sexy!

While it truly breaks my heart that after being up 3-0 for the majority of the game, my beloved B’s were unable to hang onto the win. However, with seats as ridiculously amazing as ours, to the tune of center ice, ten rows back (thanks, AB!!), it’s hard to stay upset about it.

Couple things that were amazing about this game:
Even though Patrice didn’t bring his best scoring performance, I’m still convinced that the reason he missed one of his shots on goal was bc he caught a glimpse of me as he skated by. Wishful thinking, I know, but a girl can dream!
And, special just for the folks who love a good hockey fight…here’s a photo recap of the punches.

As long as nobody throws a punch at Bergy’s perfect face, I’ll happily tout the amazingness of punches on ice.
And with that…fingers crossed we’ll see the B’s in the playoffs!
Keep on swingin!

As far as female sports fans go, I like to think I’m pretty hardcore.
From basketball to soccer and everything in between, if I can watch it, or better yet, GO to it, I’m in. I kicked ass at Fantasy Football, I faithfully showed up to weekly Sunday Fundays to cheer on Baltimore’s beloved Ravens, and I constantly check my ESPN ScoreCenter & NESN iPhone apps for the latest and greatest on my fave teams (yes, I’m from Baltimore and I heart most Boston teams, sorry I’m not sorry).
But my favorite sport? Hockey. Definitely hardcore. Why do I love it so much if I’m not technically from the northeast? First, I find it fascinating how fast paced the games are - it’s exhilarating. Second, I love that the players are ENCOURAGED to fight, way to keep it interesting. Third, and pretty sure, the most obvious reason, I’m a sucker for scruff. And last, two words: Patrice Bergeron.

Before you freak out, I’m not trying to be a sports blogger. I definitely love getting my sporty fix, but I’ll leave the blogging to the pros especially my fave sports blogger around: Sports in Stilettos (love ya girl!).
Alas, the whole point of this long-winded post was to hopefully shed some light on my sporty side, outside of logging gym hours. Oh, yeah, and also to allow myself to share my over-the-top excitement about ummmm…GOING TO THE BRUINS GAME TONIGHT IN DC!!!!!!!!!!!
Stay tuned for a sporty chic update - aka Bruins pix, a review of those scruffy beards and a fight recap.
GO BRUINS!

I used to think that the hardest part about working out was dragging my booty out the door and physically getting to the gym. False. That’s only half the battle.
My big “dubs-tee-eff” moment happens when I hit the elliptical and force myself to be interested in running intervals for half an hour. Let’s face it, there’s nothing enticing about thirty minutes of grueling sprints, broken up by 90-second periods of “slow-paced” rest. Or is there? Enter…my FABruary workout mix.

Newsflash: running sucks less when you’re rocking out to hot tunes.
Unless I’m crushing it on a level ten halfway through spin class, I’m not a cardio fan at all whatsoever. However, it recently occurred to me that not changing up my “Hot Bod” playlist in over two months might have something to do with the “lack of motivation” factor.
As part of my quest to keep it interesting, I #hashtag a fun workout theme for the month and take my fitness ventures to the social scene. This month is cleverly dubbed “#FABruary” and I felt it was the perfect occasion to amp up my iTunes library with some “fab” new beats.
Day one of testing out the updated playlist was a huge success. And so were days two, three and four. As it turns out, new beats make standard sprints more interesting. The element of surprise when something different shuffles its way up to “now playing” status or falling into a fast-paced rhythm with um, ANYTHING by David Guetta, I have high hopes for playing DJ in the cardio area.
For most people, this is probably an obvious realization. Obvi you should switch up your workout mix. Duh, I knew this. What I didn’t realize was what a serious intensity shift new music could have on your standard cardio routine.
Just incase your mix needs a power boost, feel free to peruse my hot tracks for FABruary.
Have fun and sprint to the beat!
